The following standards help guide how we manage wholesale accounts, represent our products, and conduct business.
Wholesale Account Eligibility
Shanu Gems is a wholesale supplier. Access to wholesale pricing and online purchasing is limited to approved wholesale customers.
Applicants may be required to provide business information or supporting documentation before an account is approved. Depending on the business and location, this may include business registration information, resale documentation, tax identification information, or other information reasonably necessary to verify wholesale eligibility.
We reserve the right to approve, decline, suspend, or request additional verification for wholesale accounts.
Resale and Tax Documentation
Wholesale customers are responsible for providing accurate and current resale certificates, tax exemption documentation, or similar information where required.
Customers are also responsible for notifying Shanu Gems if information affecting their wholesale or tax-exempt status changes.
Shanu Gems may collect applicable taxes when valid documentation has not been provided or when collection is otherwise required by law.
Product Integrity and Representation
We understand the importance of accurate product information when gemstones and related products are being purchased for resale.
Our goal is to describe and represent our products as accurately as reasonably possible based on available product information, supplier documentation, inspection, testing, and industry standards.
Where applicable and known, product listings may identify relevant characteristics such as gemstone type, dimensions, approximate weight, color, treatment, whether a material is natural or laboratory-created, or other characteristics important to the sale of the product.
Because gemstones are natural materials unless specifically identified otherwise, variations in color, pattern, inclusions, dimensions, weight, and appearance may occur.
Wholesale customers are responsible for ensuring that any representations they make when reselling Shanu Gems products are accurate and comply with applicable advertising, labeling, disclosure, and consumer protection requirements.
Gemstone Treatments and Disclosures
Certain gemstones may undergo accepted industry treatments intended to improve appearance, durability, or other characteristics.
Where treatment information is known and disclosure is required or appropriate, Shanu Gems seeks to provide relevant information to our wholesale customers so they can make informed purchasing and resale decisions.
Customers should not remove, alter, or misrepresent material product disclosures when reselling products purchased from Shanu Gems.
Responsible Sourcing
Shanu Gems recognizes the importance of responsible practices throughout the gemstone and jewelry supply chain.
We seek to work with suppliers and business partners that operate lawfully and responsibly and expect our partners to comply with applicable laws relating to trade, labor, sourcing, business conduct, and product representation.
Because gemstone supply chains can involve multiple suppliers, geographic regions, and intermediaries, specific sourcing information may vary by product. Any origin or sourcing representation provided by Shanu Gems is based on the information reasonably available to us at the time.
Sanctions and Trade Compliance
Shanu Gems does not knowingly participate in transactions prohibited by applicable U.S. sanctions, trade restrictions, or other applicable laws.
We reserve the right to review or screen customers, transactions, payment information, shipping destinations, suppliers, or other parties when reasonably necessary for compliance purposes.
An order or account may be delayed, declined, canceled, or suspended if we are unable to complete necessary verification or believe a transaction may violate applicable law or expose Shanu Gems to legal or compliance risk.
Fraud Prevention
To protect Shanu Gems and our wholesale customers, we may review transactions for suspected fraud, unauthorized account activity, payment irregularities, false business information, or other unusual activity.
We may request additional verification before approving an account or processing an order.
Attempting to open an account using false information, impersonating another business, misusing tax-exempt documentation, conducting unauthorized transactions, or otherwise misusing the Shanu Gems website may result in account suspension or termination.
